topographic map quilts

doing maps the other way i had in mind would be harder because i don't know how to sew that well by hand... i could make it work i guess, but a topographic map would be a lot easier. just sewing patches on top of one another.

i want to get this cupcake quilt done for "jesh" before february and after that try to do one quilt a month... or at least get the next quilt done in february.

i think it would be neat to do just a map of the U.S. and then tie a little red knot on places you have been. even 10 years later you could always add the little red knots to the quilt yourself. that can be march.
